Check that the base and adaptors for car seats are included in the price of a travel system.
Babies can sleep for up to six months in a cosy lie-flat carrycot, before swapping to a pushchair. Pick a design that has several recline positions to ensure your baby's satisfaction. Be sure that the seat is backwards for infants, and forwards for toddlers - and that it is easily fixed to the chassis, with no additional adaptors needed.
Some strollers and car seats feature two-step connections, with straps that have to be clicked in and then pulled out. This can be more challenging and time-consuming, and could introduce the potential for error.
